Madagascar: Bakers complain despite the festive days

Madagascar: Bakers complain despite the festive days
While usually the period of New Year in Madagascar is conducive to inflate the sales of pastries, with consumers fond to buy some sweets treats, homemade cakes did not take off, as expected by the profession.

The fault is probably because of the economic crisis that swells on the Big Island in the wake of the crisis policy raging for several months at the approach of the presidential elections scheduled in 2013.
The professionals also deplored the massive influx of raw materials from Asian countries, of poor quality according to them, and a parallel market where the prepared pastries are sold at prices defying all competition.

A profitable business for some, however it heavily blocks the work of artisan bakers on the Big Island.
