Madagascar: An area of industrial and commercial activity at the Ivato international airport

The Malagasy authorities are considering the establishment of a zone of industrial and commercial activity at the Ivato international airport, and this, following a strategic master plan currently under consideration.
Thus, the future industrial zone which will be including with hangars for air cargo is primarily intended for the establishment of private economic operators of export sector.
The vice Prime Minister in charge of the development and planning of the territory, the Ministry of transport, Malagasy Civil Aviation and the Chamber of Commerce and industry of Madagascar are thus working together on the implementation of this project with Aéroports de Madagascar (ADEMA), as indicated in the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
As a reminder, air traffic of Ivato international airport, located at 15km from Tananarive experienced a consistent increase over the past two decades according to latest figures provided by Aéroports de Madagascar (ADEMA).
In 1991, 278,000 passengers had been identified while in 2012 are some 889.000 passengers that have been registered.
