Madagascar: 7.2 million dollars missing for the holding of communal elections in late July

While the communal and municipal elections in the Island will be held Friday, July 31, 2015, about 7.2 million are still missing to hold the elections.
Apart from the Malagasy government which has released funds, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Southern Africa development community (SADC), Norway, Japan and Turkey have already financially contributed to the preparation voting operations and holding of elections, as reported by Fatma Samura, UN resident Representative in Madagascar.
As a reminder, the Independent National Electoral Commission of the transition (CENI-T) had estimated in late March that the operating budget for the holding of the municipal elections should be around 10 million dollars.
