Madagascar: 4 million euros for the promotion of tourism of the Island

The National Tourism Office of Madagascar (ONTM) recently announced that its budget for the year 2015 to carry out action to promote the island should be around 4 million euros.
The ONTM will present in mid-January with the technical and financial partners pursuing its tourism recovery plan for the destination Madagascar but now invites individual donors to be with the National Tourism Office Madagascar to restore the prestige of the Malagasy tourism.
"For the time being we have no support from donors scheduled for 2015. We will therefore repeat our demands at a meeting with them in which we present our work plan. In addition to the funding from the Department Tourism also requires that the state helps us because a lot of work awaits us, particularly in terms of communication ", highlighted Eric Koller, president of the Board of Directors of the ONTM.
As a reminder, 104,513 travelers had visited Madagascar during the first six months of 2014 against 88,961 tourists recorded on the same calendar period last year.

As a reminder, 255,942 tourists were welcomed to Madagascar in 2012, nearly 29% went to the island of Nosy Be, and about 198,816 visitors traveled to the Island in 2013.
