Madagascar: 3.572 zebus stolen between April and May 2014 by the dahalo

The Malagasy authorities have recently reported on the number of attacks mostly in southern and Western Madagascar by thieves of zebus (dahalo).
It is thus 34 attacks which have been recorded between April and May, 2014 with 3.572 stolen zebus, including 1,807 have been found subsequently.
These 34 attacks killed four people within the security forces and 77 dead on the side of the dahalo.
 Twelve residents also lost their lives in these attacks, as reported by the newspaper Courrier of Madagascar.
Madagascar authorities decided the deployment of troops to secure the regions as in the Androy, Atsimo Andrefana Menabe, Atsimo Atsinanana, Ihorombe, the Melaky, the Bongolava and Haute Matsiatra.
