Madagascar: 250 boreholes completed in 100 days to supply drinking water to the regions of Androy and Anosy

The minister of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Johanita Ndahimananjarahas decided last week that the Malagasy authorities and its partners, including UNICEF Madagascar, will carry out within 100 days 250 boreholes to supply drinking water to the population of the regions of Androy and Anosy situated in the south of the Island.
A policy of major work will also be undertaken with the rehabilitation of 350 watering points in the regions concerned.
As a reminder, Madagascar is positioned fourth worldwide of countries with the lowest rate of access to drinking water.
