Madagascar: 2.2 million of USAID for the eradication of poliomyelitis

The United States Agency for International Development (United States Agency for International Development or USAID) has released 2.2 million to support the efforts made by the authorities to fight polio.
Over 4.3 million Malagasy children under five years will be immunized as well.
As a reminder, about 25% of children are not immunized in the country According to recent estimates. In 25 years, the number of poliomyelitis cases has fallen sharply by nearly 99%. The Malagasy authorities want to eradicate polio on the horizon 2018.
USAID is an independent US government agency in charge of the economic development and humanitarian assistance to the four corners of the world.
