Intense tropical cyclone Amara accelerates westward while weakening slightly




Intense tropical cyclone Amara, located North-East coast of Mauritius and Reunion, still moves westward henceforth a speed of 15 km / h.
 
A local 10 hours, Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, the intense tropical cyclone Amara stood at 1,155 kilometers of Mauritius, 1375 km from Reunion and less than 580 km of Rodrigues Island by points 17 degrees 2 South and 68 degrees 3 East.
 
The estimated pressure at the center of the intense tropical cyclone Amara is 950 hPa.

The sustained wind speeds (about 1 minute) is of the order of 185 km / h gusting to 240 km / h.
 
As a reminder, a cyclone warning Class 1 is still in force in Rodrigues under the potential threat of meteor this weekend.
