The inauguration of a professional training centre for women and an educational resource centre by the President of Madagascar, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, took place in Tsimbazaza on the 25th of January. There are already similar vocational training centres in Fianarantsoa, Vangaindrano, Toliara and Mahajanga. As for the resource centre in Tsimbazaza, aside from the library, it includes a listening and debating department, offering direct discussions with applicants through the appropriate officials. The two centres were provided by the presidential couple.

Today, the 25th of January, is dedicated to women, as the President of the Republic highlighted from the outset in Tsimbazaza, and it is a time to celebrate women in their role as educators at the heart of the family unit, as well as for their contribution to meeting the needs of their family. With this in mind, the professional training centre is also important due to its role of transferring knowledge and know-how. These two centres, located in Tsimbazaza, are open to everyone, and many government departments contributed to their creation, such as the ministries responsible for technical and professional training and jobs and new technology, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Women’s Vocational Training Centre offers four branches: cooking, sewing, gardening and IT. It is a way of imparting useful knowledge so that the beneficiaries can, in future, improve the quality of life of their families by carrying out activities that will bring in an income.
