After Boucan Canot, it was the turn of "Roches Noires" beach to welcome back swimmers, surfers, body boarders and water sports fans.
The installation of a new 531 metre long shark net, protecting an area of 57,000m², now means it's once again safe to swim and enjoy seaside activities.
Bathers, surfers and paddlers wasted no time and, during Friday 5th February 2016's inauguration, were the first to hit the waves.

The risk of shark attacks is now a thing of the past. The Reunion Island is once again open to water sports, which had previously only been permitted in the lagoon.
