The world of cruise ships has once again demonstrated the trust it places in La Réunion for breaks during the festive season.

Two cruise ships will stop over on La Réunion on 24 December and 1 January.

Firstly, Costa Line’s Neo Romantica will spend the day in port from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, allowing its 1,600 European passengers to visit the island and make a few purchases.

On New Year’s Day, it will be the turn of the MSC Sinfonia, which will enter port to celebrate the New Year in the company of its 2,300 passengers.

In order to ensure a successful reception, the port authority, Grand Port Réunion, will offer shuttles to cruise passengers to ensure that they are met at the landing quay on the docksides, where a bilingual team from the Office de Tourisme de l’Ouest will welcome them.

At the quayside, passengers will be provided with the following services:

- Shuttles to take them to the tourist information centres, at the Port on 24 December and in Boucan-Canot on 1 January;
- A free Wi-Fi zone;
- Local craft booths;
- A tourist information stand featuring brochures and town maps;
- A currency exchange service;
- Taxi facilities.

At Esplanade de Boucan-Canot, local shops and restaurants will work with the Office de Tourisme de l’Ouest to provide a musical welcome for guests from the ships.
