Comoros: Violent clashes between two quarters in Iconi

Two rival quarters of the city of Iconi, in the south west of Grande Comore clashed violently last weekend. Several houses and vehicles were set on fire.
The reason for this sudden outbreak of violence is the use of the new public square, not yet opened for a wedding. "Some wanted to use this place even before the inauguration for the wedding of a person in the city. Others felt that he had to wait”, said one of the residents to the Comoros site – info .net.
The police had to call in the army to restore public order. Several arrests of troublemakers were held and dozens of wounded are reported. An uneasy calm prevails in Iconi, crisscross by the forces of the order.
