Comoros: European Union unblocks 1.6 million euro to ensure the transparency and credibility of elections

The European Union has recently released the sum of 1.6 million euros (787 million Comorian francs) to ensure the transparency of the next electoral ballots and the credibility of the results of the polls via the support project to the credibility and transparency of the process Electoral (PACTE) in the Comoros, as reported by the newspaper La Gazette des Comores.
"The PACTE project is a real opportunity to materialise its values. The success of this historic election in the Union of the Comoros will be the affirmation of democracy", said Eduardo Campos Martins, chargé d'affaires of the delegation of the European Union.
As a reminder, legislative and municipal elections and the Islands (Grande Comore, Mohéli and Anjouan) advisors will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014 and on Sunday, February 1, 2015 for the second round.
