An agreement between the Comorian authorities and the French government aiming at the cancellation of the debt of the archipelago with the French Banque Postale was signed on Friday, July 25, 2014 by Philippe Lacoste, Ambassador of France to Moroni, and Mohamed Ali Soilihi, Comorian Vice-President in charge of the Ministry of Finance, Economy, Budget, Investment and Foreign Trade.
The barred debt is thus amounted to 4.9 million euros, as indicated in the online Habariza newspaper.
Mohamed Ali Soilihi warmly thanked on behalf of the Comorian people the French government and the financial institution of La Banque Postale for this debt cancellation between Paris and Moroni who according to him now offers "new perspectives for Société Nationale des Postes et des Services Financiers (SNPSF)".
