Comoros: Elections difficult to fund

While the Union of the Comoros was preparing to see unfold different elections on its soil until the beginning of the year 2016, the budget to finance various elections is far from loop.
Thus, legislative and municipal elections and the Islands (Grande Comore, Mohéli and Anjouan) advisors will be organised on 2 and 16 November 2014.
And then the presidential election to designate the one who will lead the Union of the Comoros for five years, will take place in early 2016 and will take place at the same time as the elections of Governors of the three islands.
But for now as evoked by La Lettre of the Indian Ocean, Moroni has trouble raising the necessary funds for the implementation of these elections, which will cost 6 billion Comorian francs (12,193,325 euros) to the authorities of the archipelago.
Early September, the budget for the elections of November of some 3 billion Comorian francs (6.096.662 euros) has not yet been finalised.
The Comorian Government must find 1 million euros on its own funds, the remainder of the sum to be supplied by the donor countries and other donors of the Comoros.
