Comoros: Annual export of 60,000 tons of Vietnamese rice in the archipelago by the end of 2015

The Comoros will import each year 60,000 tons of rice from Vietnam by the end of 2015, according to an agreement signed between the two countries which however do not have formal diplomatic relations yet.

The agreement, which was signed on 8 August in Hanoi between the Vietnamese Vice-Minister of industry and trade, Duong Quang Lê, and Ambassador of the Union of the Comoros in Beijing, Mr. Mahmoud Aboud, should eventually allow a decrease in the price of a kilo of rice in the archipelago.
So far the Comoros imported rice from India and Pakistan, according to the site.
