Saudi Arabia has recently offered the Comorian authorities nearly 50 tons of dates for the population of the three islands of the archipelago (Grande Comore, Mohéli and Anjouan).
A distribution in the mosques will thus be organised to allow the prayerful to break the fast during the prayer of "Maghrib" (Editor's Note: sunset) during the holy month of Ramadan.
Saadi Hamadi Al Alshaykh and Oustadh Naik, two representatives delegated to the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia, personally moved in the archipelago to deliver this donation to the local authorities, according to the newspaper La Gazette des Comores.
"It is a sign that attests to the good agreement between the two countries," said Abdou Manoj Kumar, Minister of Islamic Affairs in the archipelago of the Comoros.
