The Executive Director of the International Monetary fund, Christine Lagarde, who replaced Dominique Strauss-Kahn in June 2011, has decided to take a few days of holiday in Mauritius next week.

During her stay, she will have the opportunity to inaugurate a regional training centre for sub-Saharan Africa created under the aegis of the IMF in Port-Louis. Courses on specific topics of macroeconomics, public finance and other monetary and banking policies there will be provided.

The last visit of Christine Lagarde was a private one, dated in end of December 2010 while she was the French Minister of economy and finance.
