Air Madagascar densifies its fleet with five new devices ATR 72-600. Air Madagascar airline company will increase its fleet with five additional aircraft. Air Madagascar has thus acquired on Wednesday, March 18 for around 77 million dollars of three ATR 72-600 from the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer. Airplanes that can carry 68-74 passengers will be delivered in 2017 to the Malagasy national company.
The latter will also lease two other aircraft of the same type to the Irish company Elix Aviation Capital. The first has been approved on Wednesday as the second aircraft will be available in April.
Henry Rabary-Njaka, Chairman of Air Madagascar Board welcomed these new acquisitions speaking about the ATR 72-600 as a "real reference point for regional companies." "The performance of the ATR 72-600, especially on short runways and not prepared, and their technical reliability of these planes are a true asset to the expansion of our regional transport offer. Also, their low operating costs will enable us to provide the most advantageous prices', he said in a statement.
