Air Austral charters an Ethiopian Airlines plane

The company charters a 100% cargo Ethiopian Airlines plane.

Due to an increase in the demand for out-coming freight from Metropolitan France, and in order to always be able to meet the customer demand, the company Air Austral chartered a 100% Cargo plane from Ethiopian Airlines. This Saturday 13th February 70 tonnes of cargo and post, or 36 aircraft pallets, was transported from Liege in Belgium and Reunion Island. A complex operation, implemented for the first time by the Reunionnaise company out of metropolitan France.
After a successful operation last December that allowed the transportation of more than 90 tonnes of fruit, Air Austral is continuing its momentum and setting up a new cargo operation.
The Air Austral team have selected a Boeing 777 cargo aircraft from Ethiopian Airlines, in order to transport these goods. Under the supervision of the freight team at the company, the load was trucked from Paris CDG to Liege in Belgium, where departure took place on Saturday 13th February 2016 at around 6pm – local time. On board there was 36 palettes of mail and freight destined for Reunion Island and Mayotte that arrived in Reunion Island the Sunday 14th February at 10am.

Ethiopian Airlines has 8 planes dedicated to cargo flights, 2 Boeing 757s- 260F and 6 Boeing 777Fs.
