The Mauritian authorities are on the go and want to locate one of their citizens, 41 years old, who would have gone on war in Syria and make jihad.

Manager of a Muslim bookstore in the neighborhood of Plaine-Verte in Port Louis, the man left Mauritius in July for Dubai and since the Mauritian authorities say they have lost track of him.

The former member of several fundamentalist movements on the island and who attended the mosque Al Waadi at Vallée Pitot located in the Mauritian capital has also given no sign of life to his family.

According to some of his relatives, his relationship with the international Islamist movement of Hizb Ut-Tahrir, represented locally and advocating "the jihad as a mean of defense against the invasion of non-Muslims", could explain the likely departure to Syria, as indicated by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
