Tourism revenues decreased slightly in Mauritius




Tourism revenues for the month of July have attracted in their wake 3 billion rupees (76.4 million euros), a slight decline compared to July 2014 where 3.2 billion rupees had been registered (81.5 million of euros).

From January to July 2015, tourism revenues stood at Mauritius 24.7 billion rupees (629.4 million euro).

95,569 tourists had disembarked on the island in July 2015 against 81,900 one year earlier. Visitors from metropolitan France were notably up by 19% with 17,641 passengers, the British by 18.5% (12,360 visitors) and German tourists 27% (3738 passengers). The Reunioneses recorded for their part over 17 214 representing an increase of 8.4% in July 2015 on the Mauritius destination.
