The traffic passenger of Air Seychelles in strong growth for the third quarter of 2013

The national airline of the archipelago, Air Seychelles, has just published its results of traffic for the third quarter of the year 2013.

Passenger traffic grew during this period 91%.

Air Seychelles has thus transported 55.238 passengers during the third quarter 2013 compared to the same period in 2012 who had registered 28.847 travellers.
"We posted a solid performance at our entire network to the third quarter with strong growth in our key markets and an increasingly important contribution of our code share partners *," said the Director General of Air Seychelles, Cramer Ball, which provides a second year of profitability.

In contrast to the global trend of the air cargo market, the cargo traffic of Air Seychelles has increased by 190% in the third quarter of 2013 with the transport of 1,631,965 tons against 561,945 tons in the same period reference in 2012, as shown in website journal-aviation.com.

As a reminder, Air Seychelles is owned 40% stake in the company of Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways.

(*) Code share-sharing is based on trade agreements between different carriers.

Code sharing or joint operation of flights is a cooperation between airlines allowing the operation of a destination by several carriers. One of the airlines is charged directly to the flight and the other company, his partner on the chosen destination, has the right to sell seats on this flight with its own international code of airline.
