The gastronomic festival of the Comoros registered on the calendar of the Vanilla Islands

The gastronomic festival of the Comoros which will take place in late August next and initiated by the Tourism Office of the archipelago is now inscribed in capital letters in the calendar of the vanilla Islands.

Several events are already programmed in the calendar of events like the Carnival of Victoria in the Seychelles (April), the international fair of tourism of Tananarive in Madagascar (May) and the Festival freedom Métis of Reunion Island (December).

For Pascal Viroleau, Director of the vanilla Islands, this calendar of events aim "to strengthen cooperation actions for the promotion of tourism in the Indian Ocean", as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.

Meanwhile, the President of vanilla islands and Minister of Tourism of Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange, puts forward that "this list of events contributes to the visibility of the Indian Ocean region and will help the tourism industry".

As a reminder, the vanilla Islands (Reunion, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros, Mayotte and the Maldives) advocate since their inception in August 2010 the repositioning of the Indian Ocean as a tourist destination and the cohesion of these countries around this common objective.

Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar, Seychelles, Comoros, Mayotte and the Maldives want to have greater visibility by bringing together diverse strengths within a same structure of regional tourist-orientation.

The tourist sector, creator of direct and indirect jobs, real perennial lever of growth, is the basis of development initiated by the vanilla Islands.
