Speed cameras brought back into service have flashed in bulk

While 25 speed cameras on 54 devices recorded in Mauritius have returned to service at midnight on Saturday following a hibernation since the beginning of 2015, motorists caught speeding were quick to be flashed.

It is thus 1.335 offenders who have been fined for a speed exceeding the maximum extent permitted between Sunday and Monday morning.

In addition, between Friday 18 pm and Monday 6:00, forty drivers were fined for driving while under the influence of alcohol after having tested positive for the breathalyser.
