Seychelles supported by Madagascar to obtain a seat in the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations
Madagascar has decided to officially support the Seychelles to obtain a seat in the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), specialized under the auspices of the United Nations institution.

The Minister of Tourism of the Big Island, Jean-Max Rakotomamonjy has expressed the end of May, when the second edition of the International Tourism Fair of Antananarivo, the total and complete support of Madagascar alongside the Seychelles.

"I am pleased, on behalf of Madagascar, to publicly declare that we are standing behind the Seychelles for their candidacy for a seat on the Executive Committee of the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations, WTO.

We believe that Minister Alain St. Ange, the Seychelles Minister of Tourism and Culture and Chairman of Vanilla islands, is an asset for the region and for the WTO. His dynamism, leadership and professionalism in the field of tourism are today 'Today fully recognized, not only in our region but also around the world. We offer our full support to
the Seychelles for a seat on the Executive Council of the WTO",
said Jean-Max Rakotomamonjy, Minister of Tourism of Madagascar.

As a reminder, Zambia was also aligned in early May on the same choice at the Trade Fair of Tourism INDABA in Durban, South Africa.
 
Elections for the Executive Committee shall be held during the General Assembly of WTO to be held in August in Zambia and Zimbabwe.
