The first Seychellois president (29 June 1976 and June 5, 1977), Sir James Richard Marie Mancham, just released a 450 page book entitled "Saga of a small nation..." (Seychelles, The Saga of a Small Nation Navigating the Cross-Currents of a Big World).

The book was officially launched, a few days ago, in the wake of the 75th anniversary of the author, before an audience of Seychellois personality’s policies including President James Michel and the Minister of Social Affairs, community development and Sports in the person of Vincent Meriton.

The Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain Saint-Ange, was also present. Sir James Richard Marie Mancham argues in his book that despite the narrowness of the archipelago, the country has always been able to climb with "the power of ideas" and "national unity" in the global community of nations.
