Seychelles: The fisheries sector second economic pillar after tourism




The fisheries sector is the second economic pillar of the Seychelles archipelago after the tourism sector.
 
The fisheries sector allows each year the Seychellois economy to reap some 370 million dollars, according to statistics from the authority of fisheries of Seychelles, as reported by Seychelles News Agency.

As a reminder, the Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands, with an area of 455 km² in the heart of an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of 1.3 million square kilometers.
