Seychelles: The first Airbus A320 in colours of the company Air Seychelles operational in December 2014

The national airline company of the archipelago, Air Seychelles, will serve in December 2014 the Mauritius destination with its first aircraft of type Airbus A320 leased with the crew to its main shareholder Etihad Airways.

Entirely reconfigured in the colours of the Seychelles Company, the Airbus A320 will link Abu Dhabi to Plaisance in Mauritius.

For the Director-General of Air Seychelles, Manoj Papa, the contribution of this new Airbus A320 at the heart of the fleet "is an essential element of the plan to become the reference company in the Indian Ocean".

On 1 December, Air Seychelles will also increase its flights between Mahe and Abu Dhabi from 14 to 18 weekly flights, more three flights already operated by Etihad Airways.

Flights to Mauritius will be strengthened: Monday, Friday and Saturday flights will leave Seychelles in the morning, while the binding of Saturday will be carried out using an Airbus 330-200.

These same devices then ensure with new telephone numbers codes flight rotations to Paris-Charles de Gaulle with departures on Tuesdays and Fridays and a return of France scheduled on Wednesday and Saturday.

The flights to Johannesburg in South Africa will be deployed on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays in A330-200, as reported by the specialised site Air log.

As a reminder, the national airline of the archipelago, Air Seychelles, published on April 10 its financial results for the year 2013 with a second successive year of profitability.
The net profits of Air Seychelles grew in 2013 to 171% and reached 2.17 million euro in the wake of revenues to 64 million euro.

Air Seychelles has thus transported 352.474 passengers in 2013, including 195.857 international (100%) travellers and 156.617 on domestic routes (9%). Air Seychelles is owned 40% of its capital by the airline of Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways.
