On June 20, the frigate Guépratte the French Navy made ​​a stop in the Seychelles, in the context of Atalanta Operation (2008), intended to fight against maritime piracy raging in the heart of the Indian Ocean.
 
In November 2009, the Seychelles and the European Union signed a cooperation agreement in the archipelago to try the perpetrators of crime of Somalian pirates against merchant vessels and their occupants.

Geneviève Iancu, ambassador of France to Seychelles, has been on board of the frigate Seychelles Foreign Minister Jean-Paul Adam as well as the Seychelles Minister of the Interior in charge of maritime piracy, Joel Morgan, and Ambassador of the European Union, Alessandro Mariani.
 
A meeting that was held in the presence of the British High Commissioner and representatives of Atalanta in Seychelles.
 
On 21 June 2013, about ten firefighters from the Seychelles archipelago also participated in a fire aboard the frigate year alongside the crew.
 
And June 24, forty students from the French school of Seychelles, from the sixth to the third have been invited to discover the life of the crew in the heart of the frigate Guépratte, building of the French Navy Type La Fayette.
