Seychelles: New strategic commercial agreement between Air Seychelles and Air Berlin for the services of Praslin, Stockholm and Copenhagen
The national airline company Air Seychelles and the German private company Air Berlin, which both has as shareholder Etihad Airways, have extended in early August their commercial strategic agreement for the sharing of their code-share * for the services of Praslin, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

The Air Seychelles Company can use its code of HM of international flight on 6 operated by Air Berlin flights each week between the airport of Berlin-Tegel and Stockholm-Arlanda, and seven flights between Berlin and Copenhagen.

In the reciprocity of the partnership, the company Air Berlin may meanwhile put its international code AB on eight weekly Air Seychelles rotations between the islands of Mahé and Praslin.

For the Director-general of Air Seychelles, Cramer Ball, the partnership "was a commercial success, with a record increase in the number of arrivals from Germany which contributes to profitability".

"With the addition of Stockholm and Copenhagen, we will strengthen our position in Scandinavia, one of the fastest growing outbound markets for Seychelles, and we are confident that we will be able to leverage our presence in this market to generate traffic with higher incomes for our country "further underlines the CEO of Air Seychelles, Cramer Ball.

Air Seychelles and Air Berlin already share their codes on flights between the two countries via Abu Dhabi, as indicated by the air-journal.fr site.
(*) The sharing of code-share is based on trade agreements between different carriers.

Code sharing or joint operation of flights is a cooperation between airlines allowing the operation of a destination by several carriers.

One of the airlines is charged directly to the flight and the other company, his partner on the chosen destination, has the right to sell seats on this flight with its own international code of airline.
