Seychelles: A new international airport for the archipelago

Victoria International Airport located on the island dating back the 1972 over the coming years might no longer accommodate civil aircraft and receive on its tarmac alone private jets.
 
A new modern airport might thus see the day further north of the existing airport without no firm date has been disclosed for the time being.
 
Joel Morgan, the Minister responsible for Transport, revealed that the airport authorities of the archipelago are under negotiation on this issue with their counterparts from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
 
While waiting for the construction of this brand new airport, the existing airport is currently experiencing a facelift with numerical work to some 9.4 million and with an end of construction set in July 2017. The renovated passenger terminal and lounges of home international on their side should to be completed by the year 2016.
