Sexual violence by husbands on their wives increases in the northwest of Madagascar
The Diana region, located in the North-West of Madagascar, in the province of Diego Suarez, is experiencing an alarming increase in sexual violence against women in Madagascar.
 
According to statistics from the Centre for listening and legal advice of Antsiranana (CECJ), 480 cases were registered in 2011-2012, 75% were related to violence, including a high proportion of young women abused sex from their spouse.
