Seven Mahoran boats were intercepted at 80 nautical miles of Mayotte, in a position of illegal fishing on the bench of Geyser, in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the Glorieuses.

The operation of interception was conducted by the Malagasy patrol "Tendromaso" with a French fisheries inspector on board, and, under the supervision of fishing, initiated by the Ocean Commission Indian (IOC).

"For these infringements, the offenders are liable to fines of up to 22,500 euro. This takes place under the operational control of the Regional Operational Centre for Monitoring and Rescue (CROSS) of Reunion" also indicates the Prefecture of Mayotte in a statement.
