Rodrigues: Damage in fields and 90% of households without electricity after the passage of intense cyclone Bansi




The intense tropical cyclone Bansi continues to move away from Rodrigues. The meteor was located approximately 240 kilometers off the coast Rodrigues to the east-south-east of the island. The cyclone warning was lifted in mid-day.

At 12 am local time, Bansi was positioned by the points 20.3 degrees south latitude and 65.7 east longitude and moves 20 km / h to the Southeast.
 
Bansi had left behind extensive damage, with impassable roads, particularly in the North, South and East of Rodrigues. 90% of households on the island had no electricity as in the morning. Agricultural fields were damaged by cyclone winds and heavy rainfall.
 
The order gusts of 90 km / h in places could still blow Rodrigues.
