Reunion island at the Paris International Agricultural Show

For many years Reunion Island has had an exhibit at the Paris International Agricultural Show, the unmissable meeting for lovers of local produce.
In 2015, the Paris International Agricultural Show welcomed 691,058 visitors and 1,050 exhibitors from 22 countries, but also more than 3,500 animals, 16,400 wines and 4,600 farm-based products, traditionally or industrially made, all competing at the Concours Général Agricole (Paris Agricultural Fair).
On the Reunion island stand, from 27th February to 6th March, samosas, ‘bouchons’ (a type of meat dumpling like a wonton, brought over from Cantonese immigrants), preserves, vanilla, spices and exotic fruits will flaunt their colours in this 53rd edition of the show.
On stand P18 ‘Regions of France including Overseas territories’ in Pavilion 7.1, the Chamber of Agriculture, the Departmental Council, associations of producers, agricultural producers, the Trade Union for Sugar, the Reunion Island tourist authorities and numerous businesses will be promoting the island.
A tourist information area, hosted by students of Saint-Paul Agricultural College and Reunion Island Tourist authorities will aid visitors to plan their journey.
Various activities will be organised, the opportunity to try products will be offered. Two key moments are not to be missed:
  • Monday 29th February: day dedicated to Reunion island
  • Friday 4th March: special day for Overseas territories

  • The CAHEB (The Agricultural Cooperative of Bourbon Essential Oils)
  • La Maison du Curcuma (‘The Turmeric House’)/Mémé Rivière: production, sale of local products from Reunion isalnd
  • Louis Leichning/Ti Planterre: vanilla, preserves, spices, honey, rum mixes
  • Les saveurs de la Fournaise & Mascarin: delicatessen, rum preserves, chilli
  • Soleil Réunion: cari ti Jacque boucané (smoked pork and jackfruit curry), red hot cod rougail, curry goat, sausage rougail, banana flower and smoked pork curry...
  • ProVanille (Cooperative of Reunion island Vanilla): fruits, vegetables, exotic products, spices from the Indian Ocean, rum mixes
  • Rhums & Cocktails (Rhum Métiss): creator of traditional and hand-made mixes
