Reunion: Festival Liberté Métisse, a top cultural event in colours

The fourth edition of the Festival Liberté Métisse was rich in cultural activities in the Étang-Salé-Les-Bains, in Reunion. Indeed, this festival was among others marked by cultural shows, exhibitions and conferences relating to miscegenation, culinary tastings as well as projections of short films about the history of the island.
 
This cultural event which took place for three days - 19 to December 22, saw the participation of several artists, including those of the island of Reunion, Comoros, Madagascar and Mayotte. This cultural event is part of the celebrations of December 20, a celebration that symbolizes the abolition of slavery.
 
The festival was an opportunity for enriching exchanges between the representatives of the vanilla Islands (Seychelles, Reunion, Mauritius, the Comoros and Madagascar).  Didier Robert, president of the Regional Council of Reunion as well as Jean François Sita, Vice President of the Council and Karl Mootoosamy, Director-general of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) of Mauritius have all placed emphasis on the importance and the need of a strong tourist region .

For his part, Alain St. Ange, the president of the Vanilla Islands and Minister of Tourism and Culture for Seychelles, has qualified promoting the unity displayed by the members of this organization. He also thanked his colleagues for their support.
