The squadron of mobile gendarmerie of Argentan in the Department of Orne in lower Normandy returned last weekend of a shift of three months in Mayotte, with 70 personnel including 25 who conducted their first mission overseas policing on the l'île aux parfums, more than 8,200 kilometers of their Metropolitan barracks, as indicated in the Ouest France newspaper.

The mobile gendarmes were hit by "poverty" that plagues in Mayotte by the officer commanding the squadron of police of Argentan.

According to a captain of this Norman Squadron who spent 34 years in mobile gendarmerie, the Department of Mayotte "it is Haiti with less violence".
 
The military has now two months of rest before returning to other missions.
