Mayotte: The Mahorian firefighters departmentalized on 1 January with the creation of a SDIS
Fire emergency and rescue (SIS) of Mayotte will switch on January 1 next year under departmental tutelage and become a full-fledged SDIS such as those in metropolitan France and in the other overseas departments.

The National Assembly has adopted the principle in the night from Wednesday to Thursday and the Department of Mayotte will thus acquire a public common law jointly by the Council and the municipalities of the island scents that will, however, be integrated in the management in 2015.

In the next few years, the island of Mayotte will have 9 centers of rescue deployed on its territory, in the same way as a Department of Metropolis against the currently operational six to Chirongui, Longoni, Acoua, Kahani, Kaweni and Pamandzi, with an operating budget that is expected to increase marginally to height of 14.5 million euros, according to the newspaper of Mayotte.
