Mayotte: Seymour Morsy, new prefect of Mayotte




Seymour Morsy, 51 years, till now delegate prefect of equal opportunities with the prefect L'Essonne was appointed on July 30, 2014, in Council of Ministers as new prefect of Mayotte.
 
Seymour Morsy replaces Jacques Witkowski, who was working in Mayotte since February 18, 2013. The latter will now occupy the function of Director of cabinet of the Minister of overseas, George Pau-Langevin, as reported by the Journal de Mayotte newspaper.

Studies
Seymour Morsy is a graduate of the Institute of political studies of Aix-en-Provence. He also holds a diploma of political science at the national Institute of security studies.
 
Professional career
 
1991 Seymour Morsy was special advisor to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications and Space.
1992: Special Adviser to the Minister of Works, Housing, Transport and Space.
Then special assistant to the office of Minister of the Interior and Public Security.
1993 Deputy Warden, director of the office of prefect of Vaucluse.
1995 Sub-Prefect of Bar-sur-Aube.
1997 Chief of Staff of the Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice.
2000: Special Advisor to the Inspector General of Judicial Services.
2003: Deputy Chief of access to law, justice and urban policy at the Department of Justice.
2004 Sub-Prefect of Etampes.
2007: Director of "Action and territorial development" RATP.
2010: Chief of the General Services Board of Val d'Oise.
