Mayotte Island connected to the archipelago of the Comoros by optical fiber




Companies Comoros Cables, SFR Mayotte and Mauritian operator Emtel have recently signed an agreement of understanding on the establishment of a consortium called Gombessa *.
 
The latter will connect via submarine optical fiber cable the island of Mayotte and Comoros, and liaison in the area by agreeing to Eassy cables (East Africa) and Lion (1 & 2) and that, to secure all Internet connections in the Indian Ocean region, as reported in the online newspaper Mayotte Hebdo.
 
The cost of the project is estimated at some 16 million euro.
