Mayotte: For Dominique Baudis, the Defender of Rights, "the question of unaccompanied minors is crucial"
Dominique Baudis, the Human Rights Defender, filed on Monday its annual activity report for the year 2012 on the office of President of the Republic, François Hollande.
In an interview with the Journal du Dimanche on the eve of the delivery of his report, Dominique Baudis mentions among others the plight of children on the island of Mayotte.

"The question of unaccompanied minors is crucial", says Dominique Baudis which depicts the situation experienced by the children of Mayotte.

"This new French Department, in the heart of the Indian Ocean, holds a record: it is the" first maternity in Europe "in the number of births." Foreign mothers without papers for most... Mayotte is eligible for a grant of 200 million euro from Europe to the title of the "extremely isolated departments", supports the rights defender.

"If France does not present projects quickly, this money will escape it, no other French Department are eligible. And I intend to ensure that the money is not wasted", highlights Dominique Baudis.
