Mayotte: First commercial flight of Ewa cancelled




The first commercial flight of the new company Ewa with an ATR 72-500 of 62 seats which was to connect today Wednesday, October 30, 2013 Dzaoudzi in Mayotte and Moroni in the Comoros has been cancelled.

The company Mayotte Ewa Air Austral shareholder with over 52% of the capital and plans to put the island of Mayotte as a regional hub for the country near the Mozambique Channel has not yet been endorsed by the Directorate General of Civil aviation (DGCA) Comorian to put his equipment on the tarmac at the airport in Moroni.

A decision that justified unofficially for the Comorian authorities by the defence of the interests of the local company, Inter Islands Air, now unrivalled frontally by the arrival of Ewa.
