Mayotte: Decline of 0.6 % of the price index for consumption on the Department in February




Index of consumer prices of Mayotte decreased by 0.6% last month according to figures published by Insee, in the wake of a fall in prices of services and manufactured products and energy in the Department.

This decline in February 2014 follows an increase in the price of 0.7% in January.
 
 In one year, Mayotte prices increased by 0.4% and 0.9% in metropolitan France.
 
Services prices fall so moderately by 1.6% in February in relation to the significant decline in the prices recorded in transport (-4.7%), while low-season air pricing came into force.
 
Other services lower on this monthly reference period of 1.9%. Prices of manufactured goods also point down in February by 0.4%. This decline is due to the decrease in prices of clothing and footwear (-1.5%), health and hygiene products (-0.5%) and stationery and the press (-1.9%).
 
Conversely, prices of vehicles and other items of equipment for the Mahoran households experienced a respective increase of 0.3% and 0.6%.
 
Energy prices including recorded a decrease of 1.5% for the month of February, 2014, with the decline in the price of the gas cylinder and fuel.
 
On the other hand, prices of food products amplified by 0.4%. This upsurge originates with the progression of prices of fresh products (1.1%), meat and poultry (0.3%) and non-alcoholic beverages (0.8%) and alcoholic (2.1%).
 
The price of tobacco knows its side a further increase and shows an increase of 4.5%, as reported by Kwezi Television.
