Civil servants on strike in Mayotte, of which a large majority are teachers, who manifest their anger since the beginning of last week against the taxation of their remoteness allowance from 2014, led yesterday morning a symbolic action of scale between the barge of Petite-Terre and Pamandzi airport.

"The State has betrayed me, I'm going," could be read on the T-shirts of the strikers.
About 500 demonstrators who responded to the call of the Inter-Trade Union Association simulated throughout the journey, under a blazing sun, a scene of departure pulling such travellers departing empty suitcases, as relates in the newspaper of Mayotte.

"The action of today has a symbolic character but extremely speaking. This departure is for the moment only a staging. But it could become effective if the Government sticks to the promises unfulfilled, “said Frédéric Muller of the FSU and a member of the Inter-Trade Union Association of civil servants on strike on the island of Mayotte.

Officials on strike do not thus rely on flexing their mobilization started on the ground and provide a gathering today to house arrest of Majicavo in support of prison officers.

Thursday, a new demonstration is also scheduled in the streets of Mamoudzou which will lead to a meeting with the prefect of Mayotte, Jacques Witkowski.

The strikers have decided to hand over to the prefect an imposing mass of preference and signed mail informing him symbolically "in the framework of a collective start", their "decision to reinstate" their "assignment of origin".
