Mauritius, the greatest country in Africa for retirees




Mauritius, is leading the African countries in the classification 2015 Global Retirement Index published by financial experts of the giant banking Natixis concerning retirement security, and its evolution at the global level in terms of debt of the country, inflation and the cost of dedicated services for the elderly.
 
Mauritius, is thus positioned 46th, ahead of Algeria (69th place), Tunisia (87th Place), Libya (90th Place) or Morocco (92nd place).
 
Mauritius even managed to get ahead Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Russia and India in terms of quality of life.
 
Several factors are closely scrutinized for this ranking such as among others health system, the tax benefits but also environmental quality.
 
As a reminder, the elderly people already represented 12% of the population of the island in 2012, with 154,369 people over 60 years identified. By forty years, the Ministry of Health of Mauritius states that 30% of people will have more than 60 years, nearly one third of the population of Mauritius, with a life expectancy of 80 years for women and 75 for men.
