Mauritius: Tourist arrivals in the island for the month of September 2014 in growth of 3,6%




Mauritius had hosted, according to the latest official figures of the organism Statistics Mauritius, 74,516 tourists in September 2014, that is, an increase of about 3,6% compared to the month September 2013 where 71,951 travellers had been counted.
 
Thus from January to September 2014, 725.623 tourists landed in Mauritius against 694.443 passenger in 2013, an increase of 4.5%.
 
The European tourist market has increased from 8.2% in September 2014, in the wake of tourist arrivals coming from the United Kingdom which rose by 24.7%.
 
12,600 British travelled to Mauritius in September 2014.
 
The metropolitan France market is also in slight growth with 10,920 identified visitors (0.9%) and German tourists were 6,600 travelers to visit in Mauritius in September 2014 (2.8%).
 
It is thus 385,046 European visitors landed in Mauritius since the beginning of 2014.
 
For its part, the Chinese market recorded another increase of 31.9% with 5,768 Chinese travelers who were counted in September 2014 against 4,372 the previous year, as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.
 
As a reminder, the tourist arrivals in Mauritius grew 2.9% in 2013 with 993,106 registered visitors.
 
The official, Statistics Mauritius, provided there is a few weeks, increased tourist arrivals in 2014, with a proposed 3.7% increase to about 1,030,000 travellers should visit Mauritius this year.
