Mauritius: Tourism Business increasing sharply in the island




The tourism business in Mauritius has attracted in its wake for the quarter 2015 9.744 passengers, an upsurge of 11.6% of the market. Over the same calendar period last year, 8,728 business visitors currently on the island had disembarked in Mauritius.
 
Moreover, Mauritius welcomed during the first three months of the year 1042 visitors who have moved to the island to attend conferences against 952 travelers who had done the same in 2013, representing an increase of 9 5% in two years.
 
As a reminder, 291,329 tourist arrivals have been registered in Mauritius for the first quarter 2015, an increase of 10.6% in one year. 1,038,968 tourists arrived in Mauritius in 2014, an increase of 4.6% compared to tourist arrivals registered in 2013 and its 993,106 tourists recorded.
 
Professionals in the sector would expect an annual increase tourist arrivals of approximately 3.3% over the coming years in Mauritius.
