Mauritius: The taxes will bring more to the State of Mauritius in the wake of the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar




Last year, the Mauritian government has earned about 46.2 billion rupees * taxes concerning the products and services. In the wake of a depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar, financial analysts estimate that the taxes could bring to the State of Mauritius for the period 2015-2016 approximately 49.6 billion rupees.
 
The 2016-2017 year might also see these taxes encrypted around 54.4 billion rupees according to estimates.
 
As a reminder, the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar will automatically leads to an increase in the price of products for imports. At the chain end, the State of Mauritius thus collects more taxes on products and services sold more expensive on the local market.
