Mauritius: The rupee increasingly stronger against the European currency




The Mauritian rupee is steadily gaining ground compared to its evolution in the interbank foreign exchange market, particularly against the euro.
 
The Mauritian rupee is notably appreciated against the euro from 41.79 rupees to 39.11 rupees at the end of last week. The euro has declined by 6.5% of its exchange value against the Mauritian rupee in six months.
 
A fall that could affect on a basis consistent the financial results of tourism sectors, textiles, seafood and outsourcing services operating the majority of their transactions in euros.
